Marshwood’s Max Horton stroked a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie lifting his team to a 3-2 win over Ararat in the championship game of the Cal Ripken 10U state tournament at Hippach Field. Horton, also, picked up the pitching win with two innings of relief.
Batting lefthanded Horton launched a towering drive over the rightfield fence to cap an exciting well played title game.

Our Gorham Team and families would like to THANK all of your volunteers and community for hosting the U-10 All Star Tournament. Your staff was very helpful, informative, kind and most of all giving of their time. You all did an amazing job with this tournament!!!!
Your community was also very welcoming and kind to all of us!!!! It was a pleasure to play in Farmington and we again THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK AND TIME…Our Gorham families enjoyed the tournament and down time in between the games… What a wonderful area and community…

The Farmington Merchants won the Franklin County Babe Ruth League title Tuesday evening at Hippach Field, defeating the Farmington Falcons, 6-3 in the championship game. Trailing, 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth the Merchants scored four times to secure the win.

The Hannaford Stars beat the AYS Gators, 18-11, Monday evening at Hippach Field to claim the Franklin County Babe Ruth Developmental League championships.

Franklin County won the opener of Saturday’s American Legion baseball doubleheader with Monmouth, 3-2 but dropped the second game 17-7.

Franklin County Babe Ruth League championship games are scheduled for Hippach Field, Monday and Tuesday next week, but first there is an elimination game tonight at 8 p.m. at Hippach Field. North Franklin Cats will play the Farmington Falcons, winner advances to play the Farmington Merchants, in Tuesday’s title game at 5:30 p.m.
Monday, the Developmental League will have its championship game at Hippach Field with the AYS Gators taking on the Hannaford Stars. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
Franklin County American Legion’s doubleheader Saturday will begin at 11 a.m. against Monmouth, not the usual Saturday evening start time.

Maranacook squeaked by Farmington, 7-6, Monday evening at Perley Field in Livermore to win the District 3 Cal Ripken 10U championship. Maranacook earned a spot in the state championship tournament, which will be hosted by Farmington starting July 10. Farmington will also compete in the tournament as the host.
