Franklin County 15teens fall to Tri-County North, Friday afternoon in Lewiston, 12-1.
Franklin County Flyers beat Messalonskee, 1-0 advance to Zone II playoffs, Saturday. Flyers will play Monmouth in a play-in game Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill High School. Click here to view Zone II tournament schedule.

Franklin County 15
Tri-County North 0 6 innings
Three Franklin County pitchers combined for a 3-hitter, adding 10
strikeouts, with just 3 walks.
FC used an eight run 6th inning to put away Tri-County North. In earlier
play, Tri-County South clearly outplayed Auburn, 8-2. Elliot Ave.
(Lewiston) received the bye.
Franklin County took advantage of 3 first inning walks, a Cal Dixon single
and an RBI ground out by Seth Gordon to jump out to a 3-0 lead. In the
bottom of the first Dixon struck out the first two batters, then gave up a
base hit, but no damage was done as catcher Anthony Franchetti gunned down
an attempted steal of 2nd base.
Franklin County next scored in the 3rd inning, as Scott Hall drew a walk,
Dixon reached on an error, and Gage Kennedy followed with a ground rule
double. Dixon was later thrown out at the plate on a bang bang play in an
attempted safety squeeze by J.T. Williams. F.C. 4-0 through 3.
The score went to 6-0 in the 4th inning, with Franchetti and Christian
Whitney drawing walks, and then scoring on a Dixon double.
Another run was added in the 5th inning, with Colton Lawrence drawing a
walk, Mitchell Gray reaching on an infield single, followed by a Franchetti
RBI single. FC 7-0.
Three TC North pitchers lost the strike zone in the 6th, walking 8 batters.
Final, FC 15, TC North 0.
Dixon was the hit leader with 3, with Franchetti chipping in with 2
singles. Kennedy added a double and 3 walks, and Hall reached base 4 times
on a free pass.
Dixon pitched the first three innings, allowing 1 hit, 1 walk, with 6
strikeouts.
Hall pitched the 4th and 5th innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 walk, while
striking out 3.
Whitney wrapped things up in the 6th, allowing 1 walk, and finishing the
game with a 1-6-3 double play.
FC 13 All-stars will next play on Saturday at 10:00, matching up with
either TC South, or Elliot Ave. (who are playing today at 4:00).
